  Overview of the Volkswagen Audi SIMOS18 Series ECUs using Magic Motorsport Flex ECU programmer : The Volkswagen Audi SIMOS18 series ECUs (commonly referred to as "engine control computers") can be confirmed to include the following model variants based on version classification: SIMOS18.1, SIMOS18.2, SIMOS18.3, SIMOS18.4, SIMOS18.5, SIMOS18.6, SIMOS18.7, and SIMOS18.10. These ECUs are utilized across multiple fuel-powered vehicle models under the Volkswagen Group brands, including Volkswagen, Audi, and SEAT. Differentiation is primarily based on version numbers, with clear distinctions in vehicle applications and functional characteristics. In terms of internal PCB layout, two distinct types exist: the SIMOS18.4 and SIMOS18.5 share one internal design , supporting only OBD read/write access with no BOOT mode available.
