How to Clone Passat B7 EDC17C46 with Foxflash

Image
Here is the real user’s working experience on VW Passat B7 EDC16CP46 ECU cloning using foxflash : It’s a VW Passat B7 2013 CFFB with Bosch EDC17C46 ECU. The ecu was broken, car didn’ t start, reading on bench was not working. The car wouldn’t start, some water had gotten into the ecu through the plastic plug. The car could be diagnosed on the ecu but there was no error. I tried to read the ecu in the bench but every time it told me to disconnect and reconnect the power and nothing happened. I had another ecu with the same part number from a Passat CC, so I backed it up in the bench. I saw that the one from the car didn’t work in the bench and I tried in boot mode, where initially it didn’t read it, it had to be read the password, I read in the obd mode the password, obd cable connected to the bench, save password on the pc, then I read the ecu for backup in boot mode. I used the cloning module in foxflash where I added the file read in boot from the defective ecu and ...

How to Fix DC706 Ford KA BSI Read Failure

Image
Problem: I’m having trouble reading this bsi off a Ford Ka (Fiat 500) with OBDSTAR DC706 on bench mode. Tried with and without 120 ohm, no luck. Any suggestions? Solution: Select Ford BSI (Ford BSI Delphi 70F3379+93C86) rather than Fiat BSI. Don’t forget to connect a power supply. Update: Fixed. Important to select Ford for a ka not Fiat, despite the chips being the same! Worked fine when selecting as Ford.

Can Xhorse Multi Prog Clone DQ381 MQB Gearbox?

Image
Will Xhorse Multi Prog 1:1 clone VAG Bosch DQ381 TCU? VAG Bosch DQ381 TCU (part number 1034420266), MCU Renesas R5F72549R (SH725xx family), boot version bh1g0301. From the Multi-Prog (Xhorse) connection log in bench mode, I see: CPU type: SH725xx BOSCH part number: 1034420266 TCU type: TCU-2-x.x MCU: R5F72549R (72549) UID: E716113C / EF722549R Flash: 0x2800000x Int EEPROM: 0x200000 Connection successful, boot bh1g0301 Multi-Prog (latest update) reads internal flash, EEPROM, and maps without issues, but the big question is: Can I do a true 1:1 clone (including OTP/component protection/IMMO data) onto an identical donor unit, or are there locked/OTP zones on the Renesas that prevent a perfect copy? Solution: Yes if it is not MQB system. We use the godiag gt107 with it and no problem. No if it’s MQB system you will not be able to clone one to one. Need to transfer files from original to donor. Better use MMS Flex for this. Flex will 1:1 clone DQ381 TCU.
