Hyundai SIM2K-140 IMMO OFF Using OBDSTAR G3 Bench Mode

Performing a full IMMO OFF on a Siemens/Continental SIM2K-140 ECU directly through the OBD port is generally not possible. To completely disable the immobilizer, you must modify the internal flash or EEPROM data. While some advanced programming tools can read and write parts of this ECU via OBD, the proper IMMO OFF process requires Bench Mode or Boot Mode connection.

The standard workflow to achieve IMMO OFF for a SIM2K-140:

1. Read the ECU Data (Bench/Boot Mode)

You cannot rely solely on the OBD port because full memory access is required to bypass the immobilizer security.

Use a hardware programmer like the OBDSTAR X300 Classic G3/DC706, Xhorse Multi-Prog, PCMTuner, or Foxflash.

Connect directly to the ECU pins on a workbench using the programmer’s specific wiring diagram.

Read and save both the Internal Flash and EEPROM data to your computer.

2. Modify the Files (IMMO OFF Software)

Hardware tools read the files, but you need specialized software to locate and alter the immobilizer bytes.

Load your saved original flash/EEPROM dump into editing software like SVedit (using the specialized SIM2K-140/141/341 IMMO OFF Module) or alternative automated IMMO decoders.

Apply the IMMO OFF function.

Ensure the software automatically recalculates the checksum. If the checksum is incorrect, the ECU will brick, and the car will not start.

Save the newly generated "IMMO OFF" file.

3. Write Back to the ECU

Use your hardware programmer to flash the modified file back onto the SIM2K-140 ECU. In some vehicle models, you may need to physically disconnect the dedicated immobilizer smartra box module before plugging the ECU back into the car to prevent the system from re-locking the ECU.

If you want to look into the necessary editing tools, you can check out modules like the ECUTools SVedit Module or look up specific bench instructions via the OBDSTAR DC706 database.
