Summary:

  • FC200 has more protocol
  • FC200 can only do checksum fix online, checksum won’t work if the subscription expires.
  • FC-200 works only on Bosch ECUs, So for Magneti Marelli, Continental or siemens pcmtuner is better
  • If you want to used for dpf,egr, adblue off and remap, PCMTuner is better
  • FC200 only some BMW ECU can be done via OBD
  • PCMTuner interface cannot do BMW ECUs (EDC17xx etc)

In conclusion, depends on what is the main purpose of your buy. FC-200 could be useful for BMW ISN from Ecu or maybe for some Ecu cloning, but only some of them because most of MEDC17 needs adaption of OTP and password or immo transfer for successful cloning. If the main purpose is Chip tuning, PCMTuner is a better buy because it can calculate checksums and it is cheaper.

 Which tool to read this computer BMW MSV70 DME? Foxflash : Yes, via BDM Jtag Connect multifunction cable as follows: Solder the dip/sip connectors on the pcb and do a link: Insert Siemens/Marelli adapter as in photo: To read and write use the following driver: → BDM/ JTAG MODE → BDM MPC → MPC55x/56x Ktag / Kess V2 : Need luck. The best option is BDM. Sometimes Kess v2 and ktag clone read ok but failed during writing, checksum error. Ori Kess done well OBD but takes long. Easy to remove and run in bdm. PCMTuner PSA Bosch MED17.4 Pinout

 I'm trying to read one Bosch MED17.4 from a Peugeot 207 1.6t; ecu pinout is correct, but pcmtuner pcmflash shows failure, I'm using module 71 tc1766 FLASH… So, any clue? Solution: There are 2 types of pinout for med17.4. Try both. see which one works. Bosch MEDV174 IROM TC1766 EGPT PSA Pinout Feedback: Solved. Mine work with type 1 and module 71 TC1766.
