Resolving SilentKey Error on Ford S-Max DCM3.5 with Foxflash

Image
Problem: It’s a Ford S-Max with Delphi DCM35 ECU. MPPS, KESS and Foxflash all read ID. But they all have problem reading flash. Kess showing wrong security code. Foxflash showing error SilentKey. The car has before made stage1 by someone else its possible he protected it from reading now or its obd impossible this ECU? I’ve read several 3.5 DCM readings in various Ford MPPS and KESS Fox models and never had a problem. What causes the silent key error? Possible reason and solution: 1). Ecu has been locked by a previous tuner. Load an original file and start from there. 2). Doing PCM update with Forscan beta or IDS. After that it will be ok. 3). I had the same problem. Write it with Autotuner , but failed, so i recovered it with MPPS, but with an other tool the security code changes automatically on OBD and Bench. So must go for BDM. It is blocked because it is writen with an other tool via OBD, you need the same tool which Stage1 was done or BDM it. 4). Try to use...

How to Choose the Right Power Supply for Foxflash

Image
POWERSUPPLY INFO! Since this is asked quite a lot frequently when it comes with foxflash programmer so the post here is about this power supply issue. Why? Instability or undervoltage can cause programming interruptions, corrupted reads/writes, or worse — bricking the ecu (so dont underestimate this, you dont want extrabricked ecus because of your not providing good voltage and amps ). remember that undervoltage is the main reason why you will fail on some ecus, not the tool itself. undervoltage can be fatal in some cases and that ecu is not anymore recoverable. ALSO keep in mind that overpowering ecu is just as bad as undervoltage. you will end up killing the ecu , so play in area that is considered safe 12v-14.5v say tops. WHAT YOU ACTUALLY NEED FOR BENCH ECU WORK? So when doing bench programming of ECUs like MD1, the ECU needs a stable automotive-like 12 V DC supply. It usually won’t get enough or stable power from a simple USB (no way) adapter — you want ...

Foxflash MD1CS003 Peugeot 508 AdBlue Write Guide

Image
Problem: Peugeot 508 1.5 Blue hdi 96 kw with MD1CS003 ECU. Performing adblue in progress need info: Allready have benched read full backup using Foxflash programmer . File alllready modifed by tuner. Before i write I need to know do i need to reset adblue? I am not able to do it because of DTC U010E Emissions Control Can Network (Urea Pump Gauge Module) Can I upload write allready modfied file in this case and do i need to disconnect the module later. Does somone have experience with this to help? PS IS IT VOLTAGE GOOD!? 13.6 V Solution: on MD1 ECUs ALLWAYS need to disconnect module. On md1cs003 we always disconnect urea pump and module or If is a new type of fusebox i disconnect 30a fuse, diode and relay. Resets better do before write mod but not always i do, but sometimes i do reset after if still urea light on dash flashing.

Problem: Tried to read and write 2006 Mercedes E-Class 350 w211 MED9.7 ECU with Autotuner programmer via OBD. I wrote the tuned file and got no crank no start. I can’t read ID or write back original now. Any help? Solution: SOLVED: unplug battery 10mins and I was able to write again. Issue- bad file. How to Move XirDecoder License and Use XRemover Correctly

Image
Question 1: I want to transfer XirDecoder chip tuning software license to new laptop, can you reset this license? Answer 1: There’s actually a license reset button within the program. It will reset the license connection. It can also be used on a new PC. Question 2: Can XRemover correct checksums on its own? Does it need internet to change the program? Does it do the reading and writing to the ecu also? Answer 2: XRemover does not read or write to the ECU. Therefore, it does not perform checksums either. You must use devices and software that read and write to the ECU, and these devices will perform their own checksum checks. XRemover applies the solution to a file. The original devices used when writing the resulting new file to the ECU also perform the checksum process. It is beneficial to use original devices, not clones, when writing to the ECU.
